Appressed white-pubescent semi-shrub with erect and ascending shoots 40–60 cm tall. Leaves are sessile, 5-10 cm long, pinnate, with 6-9 pairs of oblong-elliptic or linear-lanceolate leaflets. Inflorescence is a raceme with a peduncle, commensurate with the leaves (10-15 cm long). The flowers are sessile, the corolla is purple-violet, 18–20 mm long. Pods are straight, flat, linear oval or lanceolate-oblong, pointed in a thin nose, 12–20 mm long, 2–3 mm wide, densely pubescent.

Features of biology

Grows on sandy sea coasts and along the shores of lakes in sparse plant communities with the participation of Cakile maritima subsp. euxina, Salsola tragus subsp. pontica, Euphorbia peplis, Glaucium flavum, Polygonum maritimum, Crambe maritima, Lactuca tatarica, less often in steppe areas near the sea. Xerophyte, psammophyte. Blossoms in May-July, bears fruit in July-August.

Security measures

Protected on the territory of the Kazantip Natural Reserve. It is necessary to preserve areas of sea coasts with natural psammophytic vegetation.
